The Mekong-ROK Cooperation Fund aims to foster collaboration among six nations, addressing non-traditional security threats like communicable diseases, natural disasters, transnational crimes, terrorism, cyber-crimes, and drug trafficking. Prioritizing peace and security, the plan encourages close coordination among relevant agencies. In response to global health crises, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, the countries commit to exchanging timely information, sharing best practices, and supporting each other with necessary resources.
Joint projects, like the Korea-Mekong Future Peace Community program, contribute to post-conflict recovery by clearing explosive remnants, supporting victims, and promoting human rights in the region.

Collaborate in security areas to address transnational crime, standing united against threats to regional stability.
Cooperate in cybersecurity to build an open and secure cyberspace, ensuring the digital horizons of the region remain safe and open to all.
The project aims to promote the integration of cooperation at the sub-regional level to deal with transnational crime in the Thai-Lao and Thai-Cambodia border areas efficiently and comprehensively, especially the problem of human trafficking, smuggling drugs across borders and illegal migration.
